This Christmas, we decided to turn the holiday excitement up a notch by cracking open a Surging Sparks booster box with the kids. Having picked up a couple of boxes at release, we figured it was the perfect time to dive into the fun and see what treasures awaited us.

Our son landed a Milotic EX—an absolute win in his book!

Having now opened a full box, I can totally understand the buzz surrounding this set. Surging Sparks really does deliver on the excitement front. The artwork is stunning, and the sheer variety of pulls kept everyone engaged. Honestly, it’s probably my favorite set from the Scarlet and Violet era so far.

That said, if you’re new to Pokémon and aiming for maximum thrill per booster, you might want to look into sets like Shiny Treasures or Terastal Festival. These sets are known for their consistent pulls and exceptional artwork. While Japanese Pokémon sets may not offer the same value per chase card as their English counterparts, they’re still highly sought after—and perfect for those who want to enjoy the chase without breaking the bank.
